Among the many components in the building industry for many years is the formulation of epoxy. And since we usually use this material in floor applications, it is important then that we know some matters about epoxy floor coatings.
Know that the core materials that work behind the high performing epoxy coatings are the epoxy resins in the formulation of epoxy based primers, top coats and sealants. Because of these resins, you will have epoxy floor coatings that can protect well the finishes of the floors, provide protective coats, serve as fire retardants, serve as waterproofing, and help paints to be damage resistant.

The strong adhesive capabilities of epoxy based coatings, which is 1.5 thousand pounds per square inch of flooring of adhesive power, would lead to floors in good condition and can remain intact for long periods of time even if the floors are exposed to intense physical loads.
Epoxy floor coatings are considered good fire retardants, and this is due to its pigments that expand fast as there is exposure to intense heat. Once the pigments expand, a thick barrier protection is formed that will last long enough for the fire-fighting team to come to the rescue.
Note that epoxy floor coatings are effective in several surfaces because of its water borne, high solids or solvent borne properties.
Epoxy floor coatings then, because of its inherent chemical properties, have become a versatile and high performing coatings that are sought after to meet any kind of requirements for coating applications.
